New Prima Stencils at Sassy Scrappers
Posted by Leonie on
So, on to the technique I used for this Prima stencil. A fairly easy, non-messy
technique using Distress Inks.
I wanted to use various shades of yellow graduating through to apricot.
I chose these shades to match the photograph and
I think I'm still feeling inspired by our gorgeous March moodboard too,
with all its yellow/orange shades!
I tested the inks out on some scrap paper to see which shades I would use.
I ended up using three of the colours above, starting with the lightest shade I blended the
ink through the stencil. Using this small round applicator I had fairly good control over
where the colour was going as I moved the stencil about the page.
NB this stencil is a 6x6 which I prefer generally over 12x12 stencils just because you
get a smaller image. Of course 12x12 stencils can look pretty awesome too!
Once I was happy with the background I'd created,
I was then free to add patterned papers, my photo and embellishments.
Here's the finished page.
I used the Simple Stories 'I Am' range of papers and embellishments
and added lots of layers.
The title was cut out from some of the patterned paper and stitched on to
the cardstock.
Here are some closeups of the background Prima stencilling.
